2021 Jeep Cherokee - The Best Off-Roading Model
Starting at $31,117, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee is for sale in eight model configurations across Canada. All feature a decent number of standard features, including smartphone connectivity and heated front seats, but some are built to withstand the outdoors better than others. The mid-range Trailhawk model is built to conquer the great outdoors. Starting at $37,993, the Trailhawk offers Trail Rated 4x4 capability thanks to the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 system and a running ground clearance of 22cm. This allows drivers to confidently maneuver over rugged terrain. Drivers can also ford ahead at water crossings as the Trailhawk is designed to traverse water at depths of up to 48cm. In addition to the 4x4 system, the Trailhawk adds skid plates to the transmission, fuel tank, underbody, and front suspension to protect core components as it pushes deeper into the wilderness. The model also gets a larger engine--the 3.2-litre Pentastar V6 that delivers 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque to up the towing capability to 2,041kg and offer a combined fuel economy of 10.6 L/100km. Jeep does not forget about other features with this upgrade--the Trailhawk also adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross path detection as well as a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen on the Uconnect 4 multimedia system.
Jeep Active Drive 4x4 System
Part of what makes the new 2021 Jeep Cherokee have such great capability is the Jeep Active Drive 4x4 system. It automatically engages four-wheel-drive mode on unpredictable roads to offer more traction. In addition, the Lock 4x4 system present on the Trailhawk model adds a rear locker for additional traction on tougher trails.
