Dodge Hybrid Electric Revolution: Features and Benefits of EVs

Dodge Hybrid Electric Revolution: Features and Benefits of EVs

The 2024 Dodge Hornet RT PHEV will be the first Dodge hybrid electric vehicle available in Canada. This car is the epitome of 21st-century motoring. With its technically advanced drivetrain and lower emissions, you can enjoy guilt-free motoring while contributing to keeping Canada green.

One Model with Two Trims for Dodge PHEV 2024

Dodge hybrid vehicles in Canada for 2024 are the Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV, which has two trims: the R/T, which starts at $53,615,* and the R/T Plus, which starts at $59,615*.

One Cool-Looking PHEV Inside and Out

The Dodge design engineers have produced a very cool-looking PHEV.  The 2024 Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV stands out from the crowd with a sharp, muscular build. The front is dramatic, with an eye-catching glossy black grille bracketed by slimline headlights.

The distinctive body lines travel to the rear, past a capless fuel filler to a large rear window, a prominent feature on the tailgate. Elegant rear light clusters fit into the striking rear face. The strong lines of the car are complemented by a palette of seven singular and solid colours and unique wheels.

The Hornet R/T's cabin is quiet and comfortable. Its 10.3-inch touchscreen runs Uconnect 5 software, so Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, as is Amazon Alexa connectivity. The R/T Plus gets an upgraded Harmon Kardon audio system with 14 speakers and in-car navigation.

The seats are supportive, comfortable, heated and ventilated, and the black leather upholstery on the R/T Plus trim comes with red stitching for that upmarket look. There’s a Track package that gets faux-suede upholstery but no ventilation in the seats.

288 Horses Give A Sporty Drive

The Hornet R/T PHEV is Dodge’s first foray into the hybrid market. It’s powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor that produces 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque combined. This configuration is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with a 12 kWh battery pack rated for 53 kilometres in electric mode and can cover up to 573 kilometres in total.

Three Drive Modes Give You Choices

One of the Dodge hybrid benefits is the use of smart modes when driving. There are three drive modes. In Hybrid mode, you get the best of both worlds: the thrill of electric power and the ability to drive long distances with the gas-powered engine. This mode also maximizes efficiency by using electric power before bringing the gas engine online.

Choosing electric only for your day-to-day commute or shopping trip ensures a reduction of total exhaust emissions. If the battery power is exhausted, you will not be stranded at the side of the road as the gas-powered motor will be brought into play, and your trip will seamlessly continue.

The third mode is E-Save. In this mode, priority is given to the gas-powered motor to preserve battery charge. There are two options in this mode. Active mode will work to recharge the battery, while Passive mode will maintain the charge at its current level.

Charging Your Battery is a Breeze

The features of the Hornet R/T PHEV continue when charging the battery. Two types of charge capabilities are available. The first is Level One charging, which uses the 115-volt cable supplied with the car to charge from any standard three-pin outlet. This process will take around twelve hours to charge from flat to fully charged. Using the high-power inverter in the Hornet R/T and a Level Two charger, this time is reduced to two and a half hours.

Take Advantage of Federal Rebates

Driving a Dodge PHEV 2024 Hybrid vehicle has many benefits. Not only are you doing your bit for the environment, but you also qualify for discounts in the form of a federal rebate and, depending on where you live, a provincial rebate. The Hornet R/T qualifies for $5,000 in government rebates.

Enjoy a Sporty Drive, Taking Advantage of both Electric and Gas Benefits

Enjoy the benefits of gas and electricity with the 2024 Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV. For those quick trips around town, use electric power for zero-emission motoring, but when the open road calls, swap to hybrid mode and travel knowing you have the range. This great-looking, technically advanced, but comfortable PHEV is available right now. Come on down to Myers Manotick Dodge Jeep Chrysler, in Manotick, ON, for a test drive today!
